Exercise should be fun, safe and challenging. You won’t come if you are not enjoying yourself. You won’t come if you hurt yourself. You are not going to come if it’s too easy, or too hard.

Any exercise can be modified to meet your needs. Let’s work with YOUR body. What is your body feeling like today? Maybe you did extra yard work over the weekend or you ran a 10k or you had the grandkids all weekend. Maybe you spent all day in the car or at your desk. We can help with all of that. A little moving, a little stretching, maybe some low impact plyometrics? Have an old nagging injury? Let’s work with it, safely of course. I want to help you prevent future injury.

Pilates is a system of exercises that can be done on the mat or on various specialized equipment. Developed by Joseph Pilates and originally called Contrology. It will build strength without the bulk. You’ll have a toned body, long, lean muscles. Pilates teaches you body awareness and how to move safely and gracefully. Pilates improves your flexibility. You will learn the importance of isolation AND integration. You can do it at 22 or 92, age doesn’t matter.
Active Isolate Stretching (AIS) is a method of muscle lengthening and fascial release developed by Aaron Mattes. Active stretching is less traumatic for the body. Static stretching can decrease the blood flow to the muscles and potentially cause inflammation lactic acid build up. The AIS technique only hold stretches for 2 seconds, but will repeat the stretch multiple times, gradually increasing the length of the fibers, this method doesn’t trigger the protective reflex and doesn’t cause trauma to the muscle fibers.
